We started off as most companies do - solving our own problems.
Noode was founded in Auckland in 2018 by Matt, Corrina and Blake.
With 2 out of 3 of the team having a turbulent relationship with dairy and plant based protein powders being prohibitively expensive (and not very nice) we set out to make our own.
We trialled every plant based protein we could get our hands on, in different blends with different flavours from different origins. Taste testing is not as fun as it sounds when you're on your 100th protein shake for the day, but we eventually landed on the Canadian golden pea.
This was our first product, the seed of Noode. Before we had a name we had a blend. With no intention of turning it into a business we blended up our own batches and handed them out to friends and family. This quickly became a time consuming affair.
After months of back alley protein deals with friends and family it just made sense to legitimise the business, build a website and learn how to get the protein into peoples hands. Over time we've worked with food scientists and designers to refine the look, taste and texture of our products and based on feedback we like to think we've made something pretty special.
