Merino 365 NZ
Merino 365 didn’t start in a boardroom. It started because we spent years living in layers and realised we could make them better. We were tired of seeing old-school quality disappear in favour of thin, mass-market alternatives, so we decided to build what was missing.
Based in Ramarama, we focus on technical mastery over corporate fluff. We design hard-wearing merino base layers and apparel using 100% New Zealand merino wool. Our gear is built for temperature regulation and the grit of real life—clothes that actually last.
No "precious" marketing or cliches. Just our family making premium merino for people who value authenticity over hype.
Built for the Elements
Fran grew up seven miles from Jay Peak in Vermont, spending every possible hour on the mountain. Back then, "performance gear" was just Army-Navy surplus or scratchy synthetics. When we finally discovered the technical power of 100% New Zealand merino, we realised it was the ultimate "super-wool." It wasn’t just a fabric; it was a tool for survival that looked good enough to wear every day.
The 365 Standard
Our philosophy is simple: make it better, make it last, and leave the planet better than we found it. We produce our merino basics in limited runs to ensure every piece meets our standards for quality and exclusivity.
- The Best Yarn: We source our wool from Südwolle, ensuring we use only the highest-calibre, non-mulesing merino. This commitment to animal welfare and technical excellence is at the core of every garment we make.
- Proven Performance: Since 2016, we’ve put tens of thousands of garments onto backs across the USA. Now, we’re bringing that same "old-school" durability back home to New Zealand.
- Technical Utility: From the Southern Alps to the morning commute, our gear is designed for temperature regulation and high-performance layering.
